You’re invited for a morning of community, conservation and fun to celebrate World Water Day.
Join Audubon Great Lakes and our Wild Indigo Nature Explorations team, alongside partners from the Chicago Park District at Deadstick Pond Park for a guided tour of the park, followed by clearing on invasive brush.
Audubon’s Senior Associate of Stewardship will lead a tour of the park, highlighting the importance of fresh water, wetlands and the wildlife that call them home. Following the tour, Audubon's Wild Indigo Coordinator will lead a fun, family-friendly water-themed art activity. Volunteers will then help remove invasive brush for the benefit of vulnerable marsh birds and other wildlife.
Deadstick Pond is in the Calumet region, one of Audubon's priority regions for wetlands restoration for marsh bird conservation.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or a first-timer, all are welcome to this free family-friendly event! RSVP Required.
