(Ana Teresa) Teri Valenzuela is the Stewardship Program Associate for Audubon Great Lakes. As a former intern, Field Supervisor and Stewardship Coordinator of the Audubon Habitat Restoration Program, Teri is well-versed in devising strategic methods to strengthen Audubon’s internship experience. In her current role, she manages the recruitment, planning and execution of Audubon’s young adult intern program. Teri also works to advance Audubon’s regional stewardship efforts by building meaningful relationships with local communities and guiding volunteers in ecological restoration. Beyond her work for Audubon, Teri aspires to complete a higher degree in public policy and administration, expand her birding and native gardening skills, continue to explore her Mexican-American and Cuban-American heritage, and seek out opportunities to travel abroad as much as possible. Teri received her BA in Environmental Biology, minors: Spanish and Zoology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, MN.
