Kathryn Bernard

GIS Specialist

Kathryn is the GIS Specialist of Conservation for Audubon Great Lakes. In this role, she conducts spatial analysis, using maps, data and modeling, to inform and communicate around Audubon’s conservation work across the Great Lakes region. 

After working in healthcare IT, Kathryn decided to pursue a career in conservation. Most recently, Kathryn worked for The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin supporting their GIS and conservation data programs. 

Kathryn was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She holds a bachelor's degree from University of Virginia, and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in GIS and remote sensing for environmental conservation.  

In her free time, Kathryn enjoys rock climbing, running, cycling, gardening and spending time outside.
