Ivonne N. Chavez is a Wild Indigo Fellow with Audubon Great Lakes. Ivonne is in charge of the Wild Indigo Urban Birding Teen Immersion program, part of a 3 piece series called Birding for Service, as well as assisting in community engagement. Ivonne works across the Chicago region developing future programs and curriculum that will help gain an awareness on: birds, local ecology, natural areas, stewardship, and global community science projects. She is a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) Alumni and earned her NOLS Outdoor Educator Certification Training with Wilderness First Aid Certification in 2014. Ivonne is currently a student at Richard J. Daley College studying Environmental Science. She started doing restoration and conservation work across Cook County with organizations like: Friends of the Forest Preserve, Student Conservation Association, and Forest Preserves of Cook County, since 2011.
